Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation (Review)

I've been dying to try this and my lovely boyfriend bought this for me for my birthday. It's the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation in the shade "Medium 56". It might be a little too dark for me now since its winter but it was a perfect match around the time of my birthday (summer).
YouTube gurus have been raving about this foundation and I wanted to see what it was all about.
According to Sephora, this foundation is formulated with 21 percent finish which means that this will have extra coverage than an average foundation. They also claimed that it is transfer resistant and provides a 24-hour wear. From what I've heard from different reviews, this foundation has a matte finish. Each bottle is worth $34. This product also has a HUGE range of shades.

OPINION: I think it is a really great product. I've never really found a foundation that never melted on my face during the summer. Although, this is a very thick foundation and might not feel comfortable on the skin. BUT, a little bit goes a long way. You don't need a lot to cover your whole face up. I usually do just do one pump for my face and that is enough for me. It has an amazing coverage! I don't really have a bad acne problem on my face but you can really see my veins. I don't really find it a problem but occasionally I wanna start my makeup off with a blank canvas and this is the perfect product for that. It has an amazing coverage. Some people might think that the price for this foundation is a bit too much but I think it's pretty reasonable considering that you only need a little bit for your whole face. I'm only half way done and I've already used it for about half a year. I really love this foundation. It stays on for a very long time. I have sensitive skin and this never irritated my skin. I really recommend this to everyone. Also, I've never had a problem with it being cakey on my face.

GRADE: 10/10

SWATCHES:
without foundation
with one layer of foundation.
with foundation (you can see that this covered up my veins and my huge pores pretty well without getting cakey)

I WON!!! (Sephora Favorites Super Stars)

I always try to enter as much giveaways on Instagram as possible because what am I going to lose in the process? I happen to come across an instagram of a beauty school called "My Beauty Mark Makeup Academy" and they have some very impressive work. The Co-Owners which are Julisa Duran and Leticia Ruiz held a giveaway for their followers. I entered as usual and ended up winning. This is actually the second time I won something in a giveaway this year. The first one was a giveaway by Bunny aka Grav3yardgirl on youtube. I won 1 pair of Velour lashes which I will review in a different blog. Anyway, I'm very thankful and bless that I won this set because I've been eyeing this set at Sephora for ages. Although it's a great value for what's inside, it was still a little too much for my budget. Thank you so much to Julisa and Leticia.

Please follow them at Instagram and see their amazing work:

I was so excited to get this set! Most of the things here are full sized. It seems very expensive because it retails for $75 exclusively at Sephora. This is basically a set of top rated products they have sold. These can be individually purchased and when you add up the products, it is worth more than twice the actual price!!! Everything in this set are very easy to use and are basically universal colors. The set I received from the mail though was defected. The Nars packaging was all scratched up, the plastic melted on the Sephora eyeshadow, and the Kat Von D perfume spilled EVERYWHERE. I took it to Sephora for an exchange and they gave me a new one. But there were some difference from the first set I got. The first set had a different eyeshadow shade which was "black light". In this one I got the shade "sunset". Also, the Buxom lip gloss in the first one is the shade "sandy" and the one I have now is "dolly". It is actually much better than the first one. I'm very happy either way. I can't thank Julisa and Leticia enough for this.

***I will be doing separate blogs for each of the products in this set***

What's included in the set:
- 0.035 oz Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder ($16)
- 0.06 oz Sephora Collection Microsmooth Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Sunset ($19)
- 0.16 oz NARS Blush in Orgasm ($29)
- 0.5 oz Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment ($22)
- 0.5 oz Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil ($14)- 0.33 oz Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($18)

- 0.016 oz Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner ($20)

Current Obsession: Summer Lipsticks

I really love bright, in-your-face lipsticks for Spring/Summer and I wanna show you all my current lipstick favorites. I usually throw on some mascara and a bright lipstick when it's really hot. It really makes a whole outfit. That pop of color on the lips could really make it seem like you worked on your makeup for a few hours. If you're looking for a lipstick that really screams fun, here are some shade ideas you might enjoy:
(Left to Right):
- MAC Morange
-Kat Von D in Underage Red
-Maybellin Vivids in On Fire Red
-MAC Viva Glam Nicki
-MAC Candy Yum-Yum
(Left to Right)
-Maybelline Vivids in Brazen Berry
-MAC Rebel
-Wet N Wild Vamp It Up

I'll try to make a makeup look that shows how I use these lipsticks. I know there are a lot of girls that are scared to try very bright colors. I suggest to just try it once and just have fun with it. Don't be afraid to try something new. Thank you all for reading <3

Dupe Alert #5: Kat Von D vs. ELF (red lips)

Kat Von D Painted Love Lipstick in "Underage Red"
vs.
ELF Matte Lip Color in "Rich Red"

Differences:
- KVD $19, ELF $3
- KVD has a creamy finish while ELF is matte

Similarities:
- Long lasting
- Deep red with blue undertone
- Applies smoothly

As you can see in the picture above, these two lipsticks are a perfect match. The only difference is that KVD's lipstick has a creamy finish which makes it kind of shiny and ELF's lipcolor has a completely matte finish. For the HUGE price difference, ELF's rich red is definitely worth trying. Quality-wise, they are about in the same level. Although with the ELF's rich red, you might have to reapply the product once or twice throughout the day and KVD's underage red will last all day. When it comes to color though, they are both the same shade of red with blue undertone. With the price, ELF's lipcolor is definitely worth trying out.

Kat Von D Starry Eyes Autograph Pencil Set (Review)

Can I start off by saying how GORGEOUS the packaging is? It looks so elegant yet dark. It's all made out of paper but I feel like I don't wanna throw it out. Anyways, onto the review...

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
This package comes with 10 deluxe sized Autograph Eyeliner Pencils. Each pencil has 0.02 fl. oz of product. This pack is available at Sephora and retails for $49. These pencils are claimed to be waterproof and smudgeproof.

The colors available in the package are:
- Platinum (silver)
- Black Metal Lover (black with silver microglitter)
- Puro Amor (jet black)
- Immortal Love (dark brown)
- Napolitano (light brown with gold microglitter)
- Fool's Gold (gold)
- Eyegasm (jade green)
- Rhi-Venge (electric blue)
- Homie (purple)
- Runaway (dark violet with purple microglitter)

I would rate this product 5/5
This was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and I've been loving it ever since he gave it to me. It retails for $49 but it went on sale for $30. Basically, these high end pencils are only $3 each. I've been playing with them for a week and from my experience, they are waterproof and very pigmented! I've used them as a base for my colored eyeshadows and these just makes them pop on my eyes! They also lasts all day but just to be sure, set it with powder. I definitely recommend this product to everyone!

Here are swatches of the product:
(left to right)
Platinum, Black Metal Lover, Puro Amor, Immortal Love, Napolitano, Fool's Gold, Eyegasm, Rhi-Venge, Homie, Runaway

The picture below shows whats leftover after a couple swipes with a makeup remover wipe. You can see that the darker colors stayed longer. But still, if I  used water on this only some of them will come off.

Top 7 Favorite Red Lipsticks

I've been really loving red lipsticks for this fall and this is just top 7 of the lipsticks I've been loving to wear. Not only because they have pretty colors, but also because of the quality of these lipsticks individually. The list below is not in order.

From Left to Right:
1.) NYX in Eros - This lipstick has a creamy finish and only needs at least one touch up to last the day.
2.) Kat Von D in Underage Red - This is the epitome of red lips. It looks great on every skin color, lasts long, and looks great with Pin-up looks.
3.) Wet N' Wild in Red Velvet - Has a matte finish and lasts all day. The color is very pigmented and pops on the lips.
4.) MAC in Russian Red - Matte finish and lasts all day. When I wear this, I never had to re-apply. This is MY FAVORITE out of all the red lipsticks I own.
5.) L'Oreal in British Red - Very creamy and pigmented
6.) Milani in Hot Flash - Most pigmented foiled lipstick I've ever tried. Pencil form makes it easy to apply.
7.) ELF in Rich Red - For the price, this definitely surprised me. Amazing quality! Gives a nice matte finish and lasts all day.

Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner (Review)

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
The Kat Von D Autograph Eyeliner retails for $16 each and is EXCLUSIVE to Sephora. Each bottle contains 0.11 fl. oz. (3.3 mL) of product and supposedly good for about 24 months.
Right now, there are only 2 available shades;
- Puro Amor (matte jet black)
- Black Metal Love (matte black with silver micro-glitter)

I only have Puro Amor which is the matte jet black and I use it almost everyday. I've had it since last year and I feel like I've only used half of the product. This product dries matte and it won't rub off at all for the whole day.
*Sorry the packaging is a little linty. I take this everywhere with me.

You can see it has a very thin brush. It gives such a precise line.
You can see the different options you can do with this product. You can go very thin to very thick.
I would rate this product 5/5

This is definitely my favorite eyeliner of all time! Although, it is a bit expensive for me, I think it's still worth it, considering the fact that I've been using it everyday for a year and I'm only half way through the bottle. It gives such a beautiful finish that lasts me all day but it's easy to come off with makeup remover. I love using this to make the perfect cat eyes and it's so easy to use. I definitely recommend this to everybody! Try it for yourself and you'll be amazed.
