Maybelline Baby Skin (Review)

This is Maybelline's new product called Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. Maybelline claims that this product has "Blur Technology for All Skin Types" which means it blurs out the pores once applied on. It can be used alone or underneath your makeup. Each bottle contains 0.67oz of products and costs $6.99 each. These are available at drugstores. I got mine at Walgreens.

Opinion: I've been using mine since I got it. So, it's been a week, I believe. In my opinion, I think it's very comparable to Smashbox's Primers and Benefit's Pore-fessional. It has the same super smooth finish. I have the Smashbox primer and I find myself reaching for this more. I just use this around the nose area where I have large pores. I REALLY LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I think it definitely works. Even my sister saw a huge difference on my skin when I put this under my makeup. I didn't really feel it move on my face. It even made my makeup last longer than it usually does. I have very dry skin so I can't speak for everyone but this is really working for me. As you can see in the picture below, it definitely made a difference.

The only thing I don't agree with is the price. It's pretty pricy for a drugstore product and it's not even as big as a typical face product. Most foundations in this container has 1oz of product and this one only has .67oz. It's almost half the amount and for that price, I think it's too much. You can buy a high end primer (Smashbox) for $10 (0.4oz). But for the quality, I think it's worth the price.

GRADE: 8/10
I think it should be cheaper than it is.

SWATCH: (I apologize for the lighting)
This is on my nose area where I have the largest pores. I used Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.

Coastal Scents Pressed Powder Foundation (Review)

This is Coastal Scents' Pressed Powder Foundation. I have the shades Number 7 (iridescent finish) and Number 3 (matte finish). I believe there are 8 shades available. 5 mattes and 3 iridescent. Coastal Scents claim that these are smooth and are customizable coverage which can be sheer to full. These are only $4.95 each and are available at their online store: http://tinyurl.com/lwalnqf

Opinion: I've been using these since I got them. I love both of them and I think that both finishes are great. But, I find the matte shade to give more coverage than the iridescent shade. You can clearly see it on the swatches at the bottom. I find that these could get a little powdery but it's not a big problem where it goes everywhere. I think it's pretty manageable. I never had a problem with this powder being cakey. Honestly, I think this is very smooth on the face and have a very nice coverage. Also, the matte powder kept my face matte for 4-5 hours before touching up. I think it's pretty good. Now, about the price, I think that this product has an amazing quality to be only less than $5. I definitely recommend this to everyone. My only complain is that there aren't enough shades to choose from. It could definitely work for everyone as finishing powder but if used alone, it's going to be hard to match with an exact skin tone.

GRADE: 9/10
I just hope that there are more shades to choose from.

Coastal Scents Camo Quad Concealer (Review)

This is Coastal Scents' Camo Quad Concealer. There are 4 different shades available on the Coastal Scents' website. I got the one in Medium. This has 4 shades of concealer. Coastal Scents claims that these are creamy, lightweight, yet opaque concealers that can camouflage imperfections and is even light enough for the under eye area. These are available at Coastal Scent's website: http://tinyurl.com/kjj6j3u
Price: $7.95

Opinion: I think that this concealer is lightweight and opaque enough to not feel very thick on your face but you still have to be careful with this and make sure that you warm it up between two fingers first so it could be blended easily. If you don't warm it up, it could be hard to blend and will apply onto you face thick. You can easily get a "cake face" with this product but if you don't skip the warming up step, you can get a flawless face. What I love about this is that you can mix the concealers to get your perfect shade. You can even skip your foundation step if you get a color that matches your skin. This is very neat. I love that there are other shades available and I think it could definitely match almost all spectrum of skin tones out there.

The only claim about this product that I don't agree with on this product is that they claim that this is thin enough to use for under eyes. I think that this is too thick for under eyes. I used it once and I looked like a ghost because it was too much. I think it's too opaque that it could wash out the under eye area. Other than that, I think this product covers up blemishes very well (as you can see in the picture below). It doesn't feel like anything. It hasn't melted on me. I think that the thinner you apply it, the better. It's buildable but I recommend just a thin layer because a little goes a long way!

GRADE: 8/10
I think that this is great for evening out the skin ton and covering up blemishes but too much for under eyes.
